Course Attendance, Participation and Certification Conditions

By accessing this learning platform, you acknowledge and agree to comply with the attendance, participation, assessment, and certification requirements applicable to each course in which you are enrolled.

These requirements may vary between courses. Some programs require compulsory attendance at all scheduled sessions, while others offer more flexible participation arrangements.

Where applicable, course-specific conditions may include attendance penalties, mandatory catch-up training, additional fees, and restrictions on assessment or certification eligibility.

You are responsible for reviewing and complying with the requirements communicated for your particular course.

Course Attendance, Participation, Assessment and Certification Policy

1. Scope

This policy applies to all learners registered on courses and professional development programs delivered through the BMTG (UK) Ltd learning platform, including specifically The Advanced Certificate for the Executive assistant: ACEA® Training.

Each course may have different requirements relating to attendance, participation, coursework, assessment, and certification.

By accepting this policy, learners agree to comply with the specific requirements applicable to each course in which they are enrolled.

2. Attendance and Participation

Learners are responsible for understanding and complying with the attendance and participation requirements of their registered course.

Where attendance is compulsory, learners must attend all scheduled sessions, participate actively, and make appropriate arrangements to avoid interruptions from normal work-related responsibilities.

For courses permitting flexible or self-paced participation, the applicable requirements will be those communicated in the relevant course information.

3. Absences and Noncompliance

Where a course has mandatory attendance requirements, unauthorized absences, late arrivals, early departures, or failure to participate may result in penalties or other consequences as expressly specified in the course conditions.

These may include deductions from certification results, compulsory catch-up training, additional training fees, or restrictions on assessment eligibility.

Such penalties and charges apply only where they are explicitly included in the conditions of the relevant course.

4. Medical Emergencies and Exceptional Circumstances

Learners must notify the course provider promptly if a medical emergency or exceptional circumstance prevents them from meeting compulsory attendance requirements.

Appropriate supporting evidence may be requested, including medical documentation where relevant and proportionate.

Approval of an absence does not necessarily remove the requirement to complete missed training or coursework.

5. Assessment and Certification

Eligibility for assessment and certification is subject to the requirements of the individual course.

The course provider may withhold access to assessments or certification where applicable requirements have not been satisfactorily completed.

6. Additional Training and Fees

Where a course requires mandatory catch-up or supplementary training, additional charges may apply if clearly specified in the relevant course conditions.

Learners and, where applicable, their sponsoring organizations are responsible for understanding these charges before participating.

7. Learner Responsibilities

Learners agree to review the information, instructions, and conditions provided for each course in which they are enrolled.

Where a course specifies compulsory attendance, assessment conditions, penalties, or additional charges, those provisions must be communicated to learners before enrollment or separately agreed to where introduced subsequently.

8. Acceptance

By accepting this policy, I confirm that:

  • I understand that attendance, participation, assessment, and certification requirements may differ between courses.

  • I agree to comply with the requirements applicable to each course in which I am enrolled.

  • I understand that certain courses may impose compulsory attendance, penalties for unauthorized absence, and charges for mandatory catch-up training.

  • I acknowledge that failure to meet applicable course requirements may affect my eligibility for assessment or certification.

I acknowledge and agree to comply with the applicable conditions of each course in which I enroll.
